NovaPride Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2025-09-15

Your trust matters. This Privacy Policy explains how NovaPride collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our dashboard (Nova Hub), activity features, and Nova Connect community (the “Services”). We use plain language and give you control.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information. Name, email, chosen name, pronouns, timezone/locale, and info you choose to provide.
Financial Information. If you link accounts, we receive balances, transactions, and certain account metadata via Plaid (see Section 3).
Community Information. Posts, comments, reactions, and group participation in Nova Connect.
Device/Usage Information. IP address, device IDs, browser type, pages viewed, and interactions to operate and improve the Services.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and personalize the Services (dashboards, milestones/goals, insights).
  • Respect chosen names/pronouns in product interfaces and communications.
  • Offer AI-generated, educational insights (not financial advice).
  • Maintain safe community spaces (moderation).
  • Communicate with you about updates, security, and support.
  • Protect against fraud and comply with law.

We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

3. Financial Data & Plaid

When you link an account, NovaPride uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your financial institution. Plaid collects data directly from your financial account(s) and shares it with us to power the Services (e.g., balances, transactions). NovaPride never receives or stores your bank login credentials.

4. When We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

  • Service Providers. Hosting, analytics, error monitoring, security, and support—under confidentiality agreements.
  • Plaid. To connect and sync linked accounts.
  • Legal/Compliance. If required by law or to protect safety, security, and rights.

We do not share data with advertisers.

5. Your Privacy Controls

  • Mask Sensitive Categories. Hide merchant names or category details for sensitive purchases in your history/exports.
  • Merchant Renaming. Rename merchants in your personal view.
  • Data Retention. Choose retention length (e.g., 12/24 months or until deleted).
  • Export & Delete. Export your data or delete your account at any time via Settings.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption, secure storage, access controls). While no system is 100% secure, we continuously improve protections.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Services are for individuals 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors under 18.

8. International Use

For MVP, NovaPride is available to U.S. residents only.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we’ll notify you (e.g., email, in-app notice) and update the “Effective Date.”
